Background 研討會緣起

The WHO pointed out that in 2019 there will be about 1 billion people over the age of 60, which will rise to 1.4 billion in 2030 and reach 2.1 billion in 2050. As the population ages, the number of people under primary health care and long-term care as well as the demand for care for chronic and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in the elderly will increase.

In response to the aging society and pandemic, Chinese Taipei proposed “APEC Conference on Promoting Community-based Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) Integrated Care Model” to facilitate the sharing of innovations in NCDs prevention and diversified NCDs management strategies among APEC economies to enhance local capacity in NCDs management and integrated care for older people.

We believe after participating in the conference, all participants can improve their knowledge in the relevant field while enhancing the relationships between APEC economies and the development within the Asia-Pacific region.
